Large language models (LLMs)
A large language model is a neural network trained on large amounts of text to predict the next token, which lets it write, summarise, translate, reason about and generate code.
Models differ in capability, price, speed and how much text they can consider at once (the context window). Many are available through APIs, priced per million tokens; some publish their weights so anyone can run them.
Products such as chat apps and coding tools are built on top of one or more models.
